If you love someone tell them

Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before i know it, a year is gone.
And i never see my old friends face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,
He knows i like him, Just as well!!!
As in the days when i rang his bell.
And he rang mine but we were younger then,
and now we are busy tired men.
Tired of playing foolish games,
Tired of trying to make a name.
"Tomorrow" I say! "I will call on Jim,
just to show that I'm thinking of him."
But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.
Around the corner, yet miles away,
"Here's a telegram sir, Jim died today."
And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, a vanished friend.
Remember to always say what you mean.

If you love someone tell them.

Don't be afraid to express yourself.
Reach out and tell someone what they mean to you.
Because when you decide the time is the right time,
It might be too late.
Seize the Day. Never have Regrets.
And most importantly, Stay close to your
friends and family, for they have helped
make the person that you are today

Kate 21 Today

Christine with Kate who was 21 today
My neice turned 21 today and we had a bbq at my sister's house tonight. It was a lovely day and good to have some of the family together. Kate had a great time and got to pop the bottle of bubbly. The photo is Kate with her mother Christine.

I was with Christine 21 years ago today throughout her whole labour, and watched Kate being born, so it was very special to celebrate her 21st.

Out of the Mouths of Babes

We were in the car yesterday and there was a hotted-up car with a blower hanging out of the bonnet and two really old people sitting in it at the lights. Alex, my 10-year-old said "Look at those old people in that really good car". Next thing the lights changed and they took of really fast. Alex's comment was "Young spirits, old bodies".

It's a beautiful day here in Junee, birds are singing, people are mowing lawns, I'm washing, there's a crowd of people at the local pool. It's a reminder that summer is around the corner and we'll be in for some stinking hot weather. My own lawns need mowing too, and around 4pm I might think about doing that, or another week will go past and they won't get done. I have a friend who regularly mows the lawns for me. We have an arrangement that when his computer plays up (which is often) I fix it for him, and he owes me a lifetime of lawn-mowing. Sounds like a good deal and I rarely need to do it myself. The barter system is alive and well here in Junee.

Blog Spots

I love the bar at the top of my Blog Spot. I've noticed on a few templates the ability to delete this feature, but I think it's cool. It gives me a chance to look at random sites that I wouldn't normally visit and I've discovered some great sites. One site in particular was Mike Juvrud, lots of cool GIS info, GIS links and other great tips. I spent quite a lot of time following the links on Mike's site and found some excellent GIS resources. A Google search didn't give me as much info as Mike's site. Good work.

I noticed lots of sites in other languages that I can't read. Perhaps a feature that Blogger should look at is the ability to translate the pages for you. Surely this could be as easy as a new button on the top bar.

E-Bay Keen To Resolve Problems

Although it's been a slow process, the people at E-Bay are keen to help with my non-producing seller. They were very quick to contact me and try to resolve the problems. Not that I expect to see any DVDs in the mail any time soon, but there is a process I can follow to get some satisfaction. In the meantime, it hasn't killed the E-Bay bug. Last night I purchased a pack of 150 blank DVDs and this time I don't expect to be stuffed around.

My kids have also caught the E-Bay bug. I received a cool MP3 player a week ago and now Alex is keen to own one too. He watches the auctions to the last minute, begging me to place a bid for him (perhaps for xmas). They're certainly not going to get everything they see. So even though we've had a bad experience it hasn't killed the excitement that E-Bay is.
